 Once again, hello buying world! Today, we want you to get to know the people running the company behind the scenes. 

The founder, Greg Pillar, is the dawn of it all. Greg has forty-five plus years of experience under his belt, including his work at Getman Corporation, which has provided him an excellent knowledge of parts and machines. He gained an interest in finding and rebuilding parts and machines which makes him quite handy for the business he established in 1985.

Following in his footsteps is his son, Scott Pillar. Scott was raised around the manufacturing environment since the age of ten. At first, he started off with simple but dreadful chores, such as sweeping and cleaning the shop. With his direct involvement, he eventually worked himself into his current position as vice president of the company and continues to progressively increase his knowledge on unique parts and machines daily.

Together these men have traveled to multiple places, in and out of the country, gaining even more understanding of various parts for their customers domestically and internationally. Having their leadership develops great product sourcing throughout the company and gives us the ability to identify many of the parts we stock.

The Value of Preventative Maintenance The primary goal of maintenance is to make sure things are operating at a satisfactory level to avoid failure. All technology needs some sort of maintenance at a point in time, whether it be your vehicle, tractor/machinery, heating and cooling systems, or even just a toaster. After nearly thirty years of rebuilding, manufacturing, and supplying parts and machines, along with collecting even more parts from auctions and close-outs, stock started to overfill with units unrelated to Pillar Manufacturing ( pillarmfg.com ). As theses parts began to stock pile, it was realized that something had to be done. The question of “what” had became tough and it would just be a waste to send all of these items to a landfill. There had to be another way. So with deep thought, an outlet was born called Pillar Surplus in 2013. Pillar Surplus is a business built off countless dusty new and good used parts. The parts are considered our “hidden gems” for electrical or industrial purposes, vehicles, machinery, construction, and not to forget our additional tools, manuals, and miscellaneous supplies adding on to our growing inventory.
